Stop the madness

When it rains, it pours.

I've been looking for a new job for almost 1 year with no leads. Now, Acoustic is finally making a little money and has a great management team in place and wouldn't you know I have 2 other opportunities.

I'd love to stay at Acoustic because I LOVE the people I work with. But I'm not convinced of their long-term viability. One opportunity is at Microchip which is only 3 miles from my house and headquartered here in Chandler, but not very high-tech. The other is at Freescale which used to be Motorola's chip group. The people are very nice and the job sounds open and interesting, but the company has been going through a lot of changes and consolidating much of the business to their headquarters in Austin. Lots of decisions.

On top of this my Grandma Emma passed away last week. She is in a better place I am sure but I will miss her. There are awesome old photos of her at: http://obit.lanefuneralhomes.com/obit_display.cgi?id=280202&listing=Current

The weekend before, my oldest friend Amy came to visit from Cleveland and we cheered her sister running in the marathon. We had a fabulous visit.

My tivo is full and my netflix movies are gathering dust. I need to spend quality time on the couch this weekend. And I need to knit - I've barely even picked up any project yet this month! But I am taking a sewing class through City of Chandler and I made 2 pillows so far. I think my main problem is figuring out how to put in the bobbin so that the thread is "over the top" says the instructor...

I finished reading A History of Love by Nicole Krauss and loved it, although her style is very much like her boyfriend's books (Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close). She was born in 1974 - amazing that is my age. Maybe I should write a book! My bookclub discussion of Middlesex got rescheduled to February and then we are going to read A Thread of Grace by Mary Doria Russell which looks excellent.
