Sisters!!!!!!!!

This was the best weekend EVER!! My sisters were here for a nice long weekend. I had 4 and a half days off from work. We swam in the pool, ate party ryes, made chocolate chip cookies, giggled, told stories and mostly just enjoyed each other's company. We did lots of shopping and I got 4 pairs of shoes while they were here. Maybe it is a good thing they don't live closer or I'd have to have a bigger closet!

We went to the Science Museum and saw BodyWorld3 with real plastinated bodies positioned in different poses. I think the parts that were most interesting where the comparrisons between a healthy lung & smokers lung; normal brain and brain that had stroke dammage or Alzheimers; and the section with embryo and fetus at various stages was also fascinating. And best yet, I didn't pass out!

Courtney turns 30 this September and we are trying to plan a "Sister's Trip" to celebrate. But it's so hard to make a decision on where to go! After 5 days of discussion, the finalists are:

1. Puerto Rico (the exotic choice)

2. Cruise in the Carribean (the exorbitant choice)

3. Rocky Point (the economical choice)

4. San Fran & wine country (the token mainland destination)

Of course we also spent time pampering and got cute feet (pedicures) and hour long massages. Ahhhh.....

Goodbye Rory & Veronica!

Middle of May was our Microchip Sales Conference. It was strange to be staying at a hotel but not really out of town. We were in Scottsdale AZ but our long hours and traffic on the 101 made it require I stay at the resort. I had fun teaching 90 minute classes on our Connectivity Microcontrollers 12 times in 3 days to our sales people from around the world. And at night we had an "expo" highlighting demos and products including the dance dance revolution video game and kareoke machines. Funny to see sales engineers try to sing & dance. Keep your day job!

Last weekend I finished teaching a series of Planned Parenthood classes for parents of teens at a Methodist Church in Tempe. I love that a church is open-minded enough to include the topics of teen sexual health in their curriculum for parents. It helps solidify my morals and beliefs.

Kelly is home!! Great to have a fun friend back in town and help her nest into her cute appartment which I love because it is so much closer to my house (Yes, I'm such a selfish friend)! I've also been a social beast and it's so nice to connect with people. I have a great visit and lunch with Amy and got to hear all about Peter's latest adventures. And a surprise happy hour with Cindy & Kelly. It's so refreshing to have the luxury of so much girl time!!

TV Shows - such a sad time of year that we have to say good-bye to some of my TV family (a term I borrow from Julia!). Goodbye to the Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars forever. A great America Idol and Survivor Finale. And great cliffhangers for Lost, Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters, and so many others. My tivo is tired from such hard work all season!!
My sisters are coming for Memorial Day weekend so should be more fun ahead.

High Tea

I had a relaxing weekend including a pedicure, eating out at two of my favorite places Blue Adobe and Oreganos, catching up with my TiVo, sitting out by the pool in my comfy chair, and a fun day with some of my favorite ladies. I feel so lucky.

Sunday, my Soroptimist Club had a Tribute to Women Tea - two of my special guests won spectacular gift baskets in our charity raffle! It was nice to catch up with my Aunt Ginny and my mother-in-law Tricia. Ginny won a basket with a scrapbooking theme and Tricia's was a Mexican theme. And it was fun to have Cara and Sue there as well to talk about knitting and projects! Check out the amazing new purse Cara just finished knitting. The food was delicious and I think the earl grey tea was my favorite. A lot of the ladies were decked out in hats which was fun. I'm not sure if I have a caffeine buzz or a sugar high from all the deserts. What a fun way to work for charity.
