We are all moved into our new appartment and loving the neighborhood. We can walk to Outback, the wine bar, a great deli and a bar to play trivia. And we can walk to BevMo which is a little dangerous. Plus when things break the appt complex fixes them for us. We are enjoying the hot tub at night too and got cozy robes for Christmas to bundle up for the cold walk after. I might never want to move back into a house! Did I mention that Kelly lives in the same complex and can join me to a walk across the street for wine?? Ahhh bliss!
Our early Christmas with Colombes was lots of fun this year. My nieces are at a fun age and Nora was keeping track of whose turn it was to open gifts and very excited about her gifts. Hailey was a little overwhelmed as the night got later but she was cute too.
We flew to Ohio for Christmas with my family and it was just PERFECT. It had been a year since I was in Ohio and it was awesome to see Courtney, my parents, Granny, Cindy, Mike & Zach. And of course Stella. We ate way too much and all got way too many presents. Mostly we talked, giggled, teased and just spent time together. I love family traditions. Tyler got us all the most creative gifts this year including the "Alcott University" T-shirts and photo calendars featuring Stella the pretty puppy!
I also had time to visit with old friends and it was great to catch up with Amy who I've known since 1st grade and Kelly who I've known since 6th grade.
Thursday Ben and I flew back to Phoenix and have had a relaxing time off from work with reading, spending time with friends, and computer games. Now it's back to work tomorrow and I guess it is time for reality. As Ben and I got back to Phoenix on Thursday, Tyler went to Columbus with Courtney to spend time with friends. She had a roller skating accident and managed to shatter her right elbow. Tyler just recently moved to AZ and doesn't have a job or health insurance yet so this has been a very stressful and emotional time with her hospital stay, major surgery to repair/rebuild her elbow full of metal. My parents have taken her back home to Y-town for her recouperation and I'm hoping she has a speedy recovery and is back in AZ soon.
We spent New Year's Eve with Kelly and Kevin starting with a New York midnight celebration of pizza and wine at NYPD Pizza, then Chicago midnight celebration at Kelly's appt, and the west coast celebration with desert and more wine at my appt. It was a low-key and perfect way to bring in the new year!! I can't believe it's really 2008 already! Should be an exciting year ahead.

I love the idea of celebrating each of the new year time zones with a different place, food and wine. Jeff and I would like to join in on this next year!
Tanner ended up getting pretty sick and we had to cancel our new year's plans all together. We spent the evening playing video games and then cooking smores in our backyard fire pit. We were all in bed by 10pm. :)
