When I signed up for visiting Microchip's Great Lakes region to present training to our local sales team, I have to admit I thought I'd be going to Cleveland & Pittsburgh and get to pop-in on family. So when they sent me to Grand Rapids Michigan I was a little disappointed. I has there Monday - Wednesday this week. It ended up being a nice visit despite the pro-life billboards and NRA supporting clothing/bumper stickers and plethora of "A people" (see previous post about the Amish shootings). I sure was glad to get home Thursday morning. I'm still catching up on tivo shows and laundry. But it was nice to see some fall leaves!
See cute photo of our godson Gavin in full Vikings attire. Ben is so proud.
I disconnected my home phone until after the election because I'm sick of getting the political voicemails. I voted by mail several weeks ago and am tired of it all because I feel like it should be over by now. Not sure why I bother voting anyways since Ben and I just cancel each other out on just about everything. I'll be bringing in the election results with my fellow volunteers at Planned Parenthood Speaker's Bureau Tuesday night.
Can you believe the stores already have Christmas stuff out? Last weekend at Michaels they were already playing "Jingle Bells" over the speakers - those poor people who work there will definitely be going nuts by mid-December!
I finally watched Munich and am glad I watched it - long dark sad movie but thought provoking.
Now I'm reading "Finding your own North Star" by Martha Beck and "Audacity of Hope" by Barack Obama. Just finished Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult.
I've been practicing doing nothing every day and it is one of the most difficult things ever. Try it.

I was listening to some co-workers talk about how silly it was that Christmas stuff is put out right after Halloween and how 99.9 is already playing Christmas music. Secretly, I am one of those people who LOVES to see all of this and, if it were up to me, I would put up my Christmas tree before Thanksgiving. I only hold off until Thanksgiving so that nobody makes fun of me. One day, when I'm old and don't care what people think anymore, I'm going to put my Christmas tree up in September. I am, however, strictly against leaving Christmas decrations up after Christmas and usually have everything stored away well before New Year's Eve. And so, although most people aren't ready for this, I'd like to say Merry Christmas, Lexy!
Well then Merry Christmas to you too! I do enjoy the 99.9 radio station starting Thanksgiving but I'm not ready til Tuesday...
