I got to see Barack Obama tonight at a book signing held in Phoenix. He was introduced by Gov Janet Napolitano who I think is absolutely fabulous. When Sen Obama came out, he said he had a huge political crush on our governor. Cute. He told funny stories and serious stories and I'm very excited to read his new book. I like that he sees the best in people, the core values that unite us instead of focusing on how we are all different. Deep down, I really hope he is the real thing. After hearing him talk tonight, I believe he will run for president and that he has a decent chance. He is practical yet hopeful, and believes that if we find common ground that we all want to help people be better, help people do better, and make the country a bit better than we received it. I like his themes of responsibility and morality. That it takes courage to not be cynical in this life.
